Prayer requires full concentration and focus. It is not, as usually suggested, a preparation for battle, but prayer is the battle. Prayer was the foundation of the work of Jesus Christ. Take note that prayer is not a request for assistance to carry out the work of God, rather it is the work itself. We should never misunderstand the importance of prayer, for prayer moves mountains. Parents and guardians in Nigeria have been called upon to monitor and prevent their children and wards from going astray.

This call was made by the Provost of Lincoln International Theological College, Ibadan, Nigeria, Dr. Adebayo Lincoln.

''Parents and guardians should take the pains to monitor their children and wards, to prevent them from joining peer groups that would negatively influence them. They should groom them according to the  dictates of the Bible,'' Dr. Lincoln stated.

This assertion was made by the convener of the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze.
