  Parents and guardians in Nigeria have been called upon to monitor and prevent their children and wards from going astray. This call was made by the Provost of Lincoln International Theological College, Ibadan, Nigeria, Dr. Adebayo Lincoln. ''Parents and guardians should take the pains to monitor their children and wards, to prevent them from joining peer groups that would negatively influence them. They should groom them according to the  dictates of the Bible,'' Dr. Lincoln stated.   Lawlessness, indiscipline, criminality, evil, ignorance, idleness and illiteracy are the basic foundations of terrorism.  Presently, the upbringing of young people, strange doctrines and very abnormal ways of life in several communities in Nigeria speak volumes.  Without doubt, the known and unknown conditions for breeding and training the unthinkable and avoidable have been met in communities such as Molusi, Onafuwa Solanke, Oyegbami, Olorusnsogo, Molete, Aluko, Felele, Scout Camp among several others in Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria.  A very careful observation will unearth the fact that a different strain of terrorism is gradually taking root in this part of Nigeria.   Indeed, the parents, guardians, neighbors and the leadership at all levels should be held responsible and accountable for the dangerous drift towards terrorist tendencies by these set of young people, who are known by all and sundry.

Parents and guardians in Nigeria have been advised to expose their children and wards to very good upbringing to aid their positive development. This advice was given on Thursday by Dr. Tunde Awosanmi at the maiden edition of an event tagged Nations Rhythm Festival at the Alliance Francaise center, Ibadan, Nigeria. ''Only parents who are wise will bring up their children very well. Your parents should give you a good experience for your development. Parents and guardians must bring up their children in the way of culture, in this lost world'', Dr. Awosanmi satd. In his remarks, the founder and artistic director, Mr. Olalekan Adedokun explained that the festival was organized to teach all that is, to learn about drums. Mr. Adedokun maintained that drums were also relevant in assuaging health conditions, while also stressing that they were a tool that created joy and happiness.'' The provision of the appropriate, policices, programs, services and information that supports children and youth development has been recommended for the grooming of the future generation. This recommendation was given on Saturday by the Founder, Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen-in-Islam Worldwide, Prof. Sabitu Olagoke at the opening ceremony and Inter-House Sports of Shafaudeen Group of Schools in Ibadan,, Oyo state, Nigeria. In his address titled, ;; Child Rearing and Wellness for Growth and Development, Prof. Olagoke stated : ''Appropriate policies, programs, services and information that focus on nurturing care are, therefore, needed to build an environment in which children and young people can thrive. So,the way parents nurture and the way government as well as other stakeholders support children and the youth constitute one of the most critical factors for their health, growth and development.''
