The Vulnerable and Downtrodden

Image
We should pray to God for strength and courage to challenge injustice and support the vulnerable and downtrodden.  Mark 2:1-12 1 And again he entered into Capernaum after  some  days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive  them , no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken  it  up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy,  Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. 6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 7 Why doth this  man  thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? 8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so

Fear as a Tool for Governance

The security agencies ought to be proactive and go for cultists, both male and female, whom ambitious politicians and private estate developers  have placed in various communities within Nigeria for sinister purposes.
The stretch from Molusi street, through Solanke street down to Olorunsogo, Molete, Felele and  Scout camp, all in Ibadan, Oyo state in the South West Geo-Political zone of Nigeria have been occupied by cultists and other criminal elements, who on a daily basis, threaten, intimidate, attack and dispossess  innocent Nigerians of their valuables. They move in groups.
In addition, homosexuality, rape and armed robbery are some of the sign posts of the activities of these criminals.
Not surprisingly, those in charge of the protection of lives and property have overtime exhibited nonchalance in relation to this development.
Interestingly,  a Police rank and file alongside his wife operates a beer parlor at the Oyegbami street junction of Olorunsogo, Molete, a place where these criminals assemble on a daily basis.
Their utterances, mode of dressing/hair dressing, behavior and actions have only served to emphasize the fact that the country is now in a state of lawlessness. Of note is the giveaway outbursts of the criminals, which suggests that a number of law enforcement agents are knowledgeable  about their activities.
Without doubt, community leaders and Landlords and Tenants  Associations executives are hand-in-gloves with the criminals in their activities, while the law enforcement agents feign ignorance.
Creating fear and apprehension in the minds of a well informed and actively conscious populace, are indicators that failure is trailing governance, if the spread of the ugly happenings across the country are anything to go by
