Between Interests and Falsehood
The focus of Those-in-Authority presently, is to ensure that the outcome of the Ekiti, Osun and 2023 General elections meete their expectations and not the expectations of Nigerians. The prospect of not having free, fair and credible elections to achieve their electoral expectations endangers democracy. The past seven years at the center have been one big gret falsehood. Words have been in one direction while the action is at the opposite at the center and states. The electoral process today is now ostentatious and indecent. Shall the coming elections be determined by voting? Nobody knows. It is already obious that in the coming elections there shall be official attempts to rig.But shall it succeed? May be not. The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) ought to be made to realize that it shall be doing a disservice to the nation if the commission allows the ruling party to rig the coming elections. Lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly have long ceased to represent the electorate in Nigeria. This assertion was made by the convener of the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze. Oyo Government not taking our welfare seriously-Health Workers
Some health workers in Oyo state have expressed reservations over the continued delay of the state government to meet their demands. The health workers, who are members of the Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals(NUAHP), Hospital Management Board unit, lamented that the state government ''is not taking our welfare seriously.'' ''The state government has continued to treat health workers on its payroll with levity. We are not happy about this, the government should urgently address our demands, they stated. However, the chairman of the unit, Comrade Olanrewaju Ajani disclosed that of all the demands of the health workers, the state government had only reviewed the hazard allowance.
