Funding Instability

Special Interest Quotes - BrainyQuote

The continued existence of outlawed organizations revolves majorly around indiscipline, lawlessness, criminality and evil.

Indeed, lies, half-truths, hunger, poverty, idleness, ignorance, the high population of illiterates, language and religious differences are among the several factors that have been tapped on, to manipulate and deceive Nigerians into belonging to the outlawed organizations.

Sadly, personalities with ambiguous characters who now hold political offices have for some time, in the recent past, identified with these organizations and even funded them to promote instability and violence in different parts of Nigeria.

This is the right time to take a second look into a number of cases of alleged attacks in some states of the federation.

Of great worry is the increasing involvement of professional bodies and workers' unions in violence for pecuniary reasons.

Violent Crimes-Re-Orientate and Re-train Security Operatives-Comrade Emelieze

Violent Quotes - BrainyQuote

The funding of several agencies by the Federal Government to tackle violent crime in Nigeria may be for pecuniary reasons even though it is wasteful

This assertion was made in a chat with New Federation by a former chairman of the Oyo state council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC) Comrade Andrew Emelieze.

''It is very ridiculous when one begins to count the number of law enforcement and security agencies fighting violent crimes in Nigeria. These agencies are all performing the same function, perhaps, for pecuniary reasons and this is wasteful. The political class should be held responsible for violent crimes in the land. The Federal Government needs to move from wasteful spending and  urgently re-orientate, train and re-train the conventional law  enforcement and security operatives for the best results,'' Comrade Emelieze advised.

Creation of State Police will Legitimize Oppression by Governors-NASU Chairman

The large number of the operatives of the South West security network that accompanied a serving state Governor to a non-state function in Osogbo Osun state has exposed the real motive behind the agitation for state police by its proponents.

This revelation was made by the branch chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union and Associated Institutions(NASU) University College Hospital(UCH) Ibadan, Nigeria.

''The creation of a state police can only reduce violent crime, but it is not a permanent solution. The virus that is presently within the Nigeria Police Force-extortion, bribery and extra-judicial killings, will be transferred to the state police also. Can you imagine, a state governor was accompanied by the state's regional security network to Osogbo for a self-interest event.  The creation of a state police would only legitimize bullying by those who pay the operatives. This is a sign of what to expect when the state police comes into being. These set of law enforcement operatives are more corrupt.

Ribadu's Revelation serves as a pointer to what Nigerians should expect-Comrade Emelieze

The recent disclosure by Nigeria's National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is a hint of what Nigerians should expect from the present administration in the next four years. This assertion was made by a former chairman of the Oyo state council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC), Comrade Andrew Emelieze. ''The recent revelation by the National Security Adviser is very credible and serves as a pointer to what Nigerians should expect from the present government in the next four years even though it may not meet their expectations,'' Comrade Emelieze stated. Mallma Ribadu had disclosed that the present administration was contending with very serious budget constraints and confessed that they inherited a bankrupt country. He stressed that at present the government was taking care of the debts of the immediate past administration.
