The student's loan initiative is designed to privatize education and institutionalize the exploitation of students, wards, guardians, and parents.

This assertion was made by a former chairman of the Oyo state council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC), Comrade Andrew Emelieze.

''Te idea of student loans contradicts our culture and tradition. The students loan is meant to privatize education and take it beyond the reach of poor Nigerians. It is meant to exploit students, wards, parents and guardians'', Comrade Emelieze disclosed.
