Our God enriches us with His grace

Image
Our God enriches us with His grace, demands some work from us, and ensures that no harm befalls us as His willing subjects. Our God of all time, all places, and all people moves ahead of tradition and popular expectations. Read Isaiah 45:1-7 The Local Scene- Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine was from Jappai village in Northern Cameroon. Maitatsine, a Mufu by tribe, became a Muslim in 1940. The tradition of the ethnic group revolved around human sacrifice and superstition. Maitatsine's followers, then, were young people, initiated into the group through the consumption of hypnotized concoctions. This brought in its wake violent crimes, an aberration to all right-thinking mortals. Sadly, the disturbing trend and source of inspiration of these criminals emanate from the heavy reliance of the leadership at the different levels of government on outlawed substances, in desperate attempts to hold on to political power. Very disturbing.

Funding Instability

Image
The continued existence of outlawed organizations revolves majorly around indiscipline, lawlessness, criminality and evil. Indeed, lies, half-truths, hunger, poverty, idleness, ignorance, the high population of illiterates, language and religious differences are among the several factors that have been tapped on, to manipulate and deceive Nigerians into belonging to the outlawed organizations.  Sadly, personalities with ambiguous characters who now hold political offices have for some time, in the recent past, identified with these organizations and even funded them to promote instability and violence in different parts of Nigeria. This is the right time to take a second look into a number of cases of alleged attacks in some states of the federation. Of great worry is the increasing involvement of professional bodies and workers' unions in violence for pecuniary reasons.

God's Sovereign Rule

Image
It is not all the nations of the world that acknowledge God's sovereign rule, however, they are also subject to the law, and  wrath of  God.  Amos 1:1-15 1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake. 2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither. 3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away  the punishment  thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron: 4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad. 5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of...

A Substitute Religion

Image
Offering service to humankind through helping others in need is not a substitute for service to God. Good works and charitable deeds are not a substitute for religion.  Ephesians 2:7-10  places  in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in  his  kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is  the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

National I.D-Government should explain why Initial Project Failed-Comrade Emelieze.

Image
The Federal Government must explain to Nigerians the reason why the first National Identity Card Project failed before embarking on another money-consuming project. This assertion was made by a former chairman of the Oyo state council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC), Comrade Andrew Emelieze. ''Billions of Naira went into the first National Identity Card Project, and it was a failure. Before the Federal Government embarks on another waste of taxpayers' money, it should explain convincingly why the initial project failed. This is not the time and dispensation to waste taxpayers' money on projects that have been designed to enrich their promoters, '' Comrade Emelieze warned.                                                                                           ...

Parents and guardians in Nigeria have been called upon to monitor and prevent their children and wards from going astray. This call was made by the Provost of Lincoln International Theological College, Ibadan, Nigeria, Dr. Adebayo Lincoln. Dr. Lincoln also advised those who seek theological education to contact these mobile lines-08167057879/09091717751

Pray for Help

Image
We should always pray to god to guide us from being dominated by sin and also seek His help to overcome it. Romans 3:10-18 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat  is  an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps  is  under their lips: 14 Whose mouth  is  full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet  are  swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery  are  in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Appreciate His presence Always

Image
We should praise God for every joyful experience within human life that reminds us of His presence with us. We must always appreciate the presence of  God in the midst of human life. Revelation 21:22-27 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb  is  the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it a...
