Education-Gov Makinde has provided an enabling environment for teachers-Oyo NUT Chairman

  As parents and guardians continue to worry over the disturbing performance of their children and wards in both public and private primary and secondary schools in Oyo state,  in addition to the increasing cases of deviant behavior and illicit drug use, the chairman of the Oyo state council of the Nigeria Union of Teachers(NUT), Comrade Raji Oladimeji opines that the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has provided a conducive environment for teachers to thrive in the state. Excerpts: How would you assess the outgoing 2024/2025 academic session in public and private primary and secondary schools in Oyo state? We have the Capacity to Secure Oyo Schools-Nigerian Legion

The Nigerian Legion has declared that it has the capacity to secure schools in Oyo state. This declaration was made by the Deputy Commandant General of the Legion and the chair of the state chapter, Evangelist Julius Ogunjoko. ''Learning can only take place in a secure environment. Pupils and students must have a hundred per cent security in their schools. The security of our children should be of paramount importance. We have written several letters to the Oyo state Government in this respect. We will continue to remind the government, once we have the approval we are ready and have the capacity to secure both public and private schools in the state.''

Lawmakers are very far from Nigerians-Comrade Emelieze

Lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly have long ceased to represent the electorate in Nigeria. This assertion was made by the convener of the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze. Oyo Government not taking our welfare seriously-Health Workers

  Some health workers in Oyo state have expressed reservations over the continued delay of the state government to meet their demands. The health workers, who are members of the Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals(NUAHP), Hospital Management Board unit, lamented that the state government ''is not taking our welfare seriously.'' ''The state government has continued to treat health workers on its payroll with levity. We are not happy about this, the government should urgently address our demands, they stated. However, the chairman of the unit, Comrade Olanrewaju Ajani disclosed that of all the demands of the health workers, the state government had only reviewed the hazard allowance.
