The Standard of Learning

  A moderate standard of learning must include the ability of a child to be able to spell ordinary words, correctly to write legibly and intelligently, to make out or check a common bill, to have sufficient geographical knowledge to know the position of the countries of the world and above all to be sufficiently acquainted with the Scriptures. In every part of Nigeria today, most children leave school without attaining these standards. The present system of education at all levels of government is not only bad for the children but also for the teachers. The teaching profession has been debased by the government and the devices of the teachers. Parents have a major duty to their children, but most parents habitually neglect this major duty. Care for your children and Wards

Parents and guradians should care for their children and wards. They must guard against spiritual harm, teach them about the threats of the world, the flesh and the devil. Proverbs 29 : 11-17 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. 12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked. 13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes. 14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever. 15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. 16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. 17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

The Message

 When Jesus Christ was about to conclude His sermon on the Mount, He told a story about two personalities who built houses, one on a rock and the other on sand. His aim was for His listeners to realize that those who heard His message and went away without putting it to practice were foolish. Jesus Christ expects us to take action on His message. Do we always practice the sermons we have heard? A sermon is not complete until it is put to practice. Read Matthew 7:24-29 Desperation to Cling to Transient Power  Those-in-Charge do not respect the people’s views, rather the leaders impose their self-driven agenda on the people.
