Our God will deliver us

Image
Our God is aware of our afflictions and always hears our cries and lamentations as victims of oppression, repression, and suppression. Our God  will deliver us. Let us make a request to our God: give us clear minds to make decisions and also the courage to do the necessary at the appropriate time. Read Exodus 3:1-15 The Local Scene General unemployment and widespread poverty now characterize daily living in different parts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The glaring absence of constant interaction between Nigerians and their leaders may be a clog in the wheel in translating the aspirations of millions of Nigerians into concrete reality. Indeed, hope for the introduction of policy measures that will address the needs of the people has dimmed considerably. Sadly, oppression, repression, and suppression have become instruments of governance in this dispensation. The confidence and bravery exhibited by criminals in promoting their stock in trade in several communities, particularly...

The Work of Craftsmen

We ought to always give glory to God for the gift of intellect, discernment, innovation, strenght and beauty. Without doubt life is transcient and for this reason, we ave to make god use of every moment. The orientation for children in most communities in Africa's most populous nation revolves around crime, deviant behavior, and indiscipline. The only visible explanation for the disturbing trend is that illiteracy has almost succeeded in eroding all that h...

Image
The Federal Workers Forum (FWF) has appealed to the federal government to discontinue the treatment of workers as slaves. This appeal was made by the FWF National Coordinator, Comrade Andrew Emelieze, in a chat with Solomon2day. ''We urge the federal government to stop treating workers like slaves; we are citizens. The new national minimum wage has led to the financial embarrassment of federal workers; our government must rethink her attitude towards the Nigerian workers.  Most unfortunately, our government is still owing us five months wage award arrears earlier promised to cushion the effects of petrol subsidy removal, and labor is not doing anything; this is indeed very shameful. The government is also owing poorly paid workers lots of arrears of various allowances. In the crucial sectors of health and education, the workers have continued to plead for their legitimate dues, all to no avail. ''Federal workers also posit that the entire labor movement and the left ha...
