THE Consequences of a Faulty Leadership

Image
Take interest in your health and wellness Helpless and harmless Nigerians have for several years watched with utter disbelief as criminals and the government takes advantage of faulty leadership to annex their landed property in Nigeria. Also, read-Nigerians have become Despondent- Comrade Emelieze Indeed, the activities of these criminals have the imprints of those who are supposed to be in charge. Of great worry is the boldness and confidence exhibited by the criminals, who openly boast of having the blessings of government officials. Lawlessness, indiscipline, criminality, and evil are now ways of life in different parts of Nigeria. Recently, an estate surveyor led 4 armed uniformed men to break into a block of four flats at 3, Kehinde Aderibigbe Street, Olorunsogo, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo state. The invaders, who concealed their name tags and service numbers, broke the padlocks of the gate and the doors to the apartments, ransacked the whole building, and made away with ...

Be Thankful to God always

Image
Take great interest in your health and wellness Genuine contentment is not learned all at once. But it always includes being thankful for whatever blessings we have. Praising God turns burdens into blessings. Psalm 145:1-10 1 (David's  Psalm  of praise.) I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great  is  the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness  is  unsearchable. 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. 5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. 6 And  men  shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. 8 The LORD  is  gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of gr...

The Acquisition of Knowledge

Image
Nigerian society revolves around rumor bandied tradition. This largely explains why the pursuit of knowledge is based on other considerations and not for knowledge's sake. Irrespective of the number of educational institutions at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels across the country, it is still an illiterate society. The implantation of widespread falsehood and ignorance is very disturbing. Indeed, the non-nonchalant  and carefree attitude of the citizenry towards acquiring knowledge is a reflection of the faulty selection process of the leadership at all levels of government.

Don't Offend God

Image
The fear of God is a valid motive not to commit sin and is also a good reason to do the right thing all the time. It is a health fear, not only of sin's painful consequences,  but of sinning against one who loves us and whom we depend on for our very life. Job 1 : 1-8 Shop @ Oriflame There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name  was  Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. 2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. 3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. 4 And his sons went and feasted  in their  houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. 5 And it was so, when the days of  their  feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified t...

N35, 000 Wage Award-Workers are only Relieved Psychologically-Member NASU NEC

Image
The N35, 000 wage award recently announced by the Federal Government  has only relieved workers in Nigeria psychologically and not economically. This assertion was made by a member of the National Executive Council(NEC) of the Non-Academic Staff Union and Associated Institutions(NASU), who is also the branch chairman of the union at the University College Hospital(UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria, Comrade Kehinde Abiona. ''The announcement has calmed frayed  nerves, but the government is yet to pay as at now. The review of CONHESS/CONMESS effectual from June 1st has not been implemented. In his view, a former Oyo state chairman of the NASU, Comrade Fatoki Olusola-Cole, insisted that the wage aw...

Join USIP and U.N. Women for the launch of a new report

Image
The latest U.N. research indicates that the global push for gender equality is facing serious obstacles and setbacks.  Without critical investments and more integrated approaches, the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals for gender equality will not be reachable by the Agenda 2030 deadline — especially given rising levels of global conflict and growing vulnerability brought on by climate disruption and displacement.   The Gender Snapshot Report is a stark reminder that halfway through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the world is failing to achieve the SDG, and achieving gender equality is an increasingly distant goal. Recent setbacks, particularly among women and girls living in fragile or conflict-affected countries, and growing vulnerability brought on by human-induced climate change, are worsening the outlook.  Failure to scale up and invest in gender equality now will place the entire 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in peril.  DETAILS...

Denied the Right to Livelihood

Image
The economic policies of  the present administration in Nigeria have painfully  eroded  the  fundamental rights of citizens. Economic reforms have attracted difficulties, sufferings and hardships, to the extent that heinous and grievous crimes are now perceived as credible solutions? Nigerians have been denied their rights to livelihood, which translates to the denial of their rights to life and personal dignity. The consequences are now occupying public space and Those-in-Charge are not only confused, but also helpless.

The Efficacy of Prayers

Image
Prayer is our duty and task. It is enough for those who are nonchalant and carefree-imminent tragedies. Prayer moves the HAND that moves the world. Let us pray on and the answers are left to God, our Creator.  Gen 18 : 20-33 20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall no...

Image
Lawmakers in Uganda have rejected a proposal by the government to give the nod  for 15-year-old girls to have access to birth control pills. The Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa, described the proposal as devilish and stressed that it would officially promote the defilement of girls in the country. Almost a quarter of 15- to 19-year-old girls in Uganda are either pregnant or are already mothers.

Prosperity for selfish Interests

Image
Presently, many parents are unable to take good care of their children in different parts of Nigeria. Prostitution, cultism, child and women trafficking, hard drug usage are among the several social maladies plaguing society. Sadly, a number of those in religion have not helped matters by focusing mainly on prosperity for selfish interests. Anointing and blessings for questionable characters  for mouth-watering fees now dominate the space, just as doctrines are twisted to suit their diabolic design.

Oneness in Christ

Oneness in Christ transcends all distinctions between men and women. Any demeaning attitude, comment or action, one toward another is contrary to God's word. Esther 1 1 Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this  is  Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia,  over  an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:) 2 That  in those days, when the king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which  was  in Shushan the palace, 3 In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces,  being  before him: 4 When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days,  even  an hundred and fourscore days. 5 And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven day...

Awake to the Reality of the the Times

Desperation to continue the status quo- a period during which  Nigerians have over the years been deceived into perpetual political, economic  and social bondage-informs the insensitivity of the leadership[ at all levels of government. To this  extent, confusion, disagreement and rancor now characterize the relationship between the leadership, their cronies, proteges and fronts. Interestingly, millions of Nigerians have eventually woken up from their  deep slumber  and are now anxious to know what befell them.

Motherhood : A Partnership with God

Image
Mothers pass through periods of great joys  and intense sorrows. But once mothers submit their lives to God, our Savior, every season of their motherhood serves His eternal purposes. Luke 2 : 1-7, 25-35 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 ( And  this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
