  Manners and respect are crucial for societal values .  Teaching respect to children involves consistently treating others respectfully.  Living these values daily and teaching respect for elders, such as apologizing for insults, helps children see elders as valuable and worth paying attention to. Young people should cultivate the habit of regarding the elderly and others in society with respect. Respect should be a way of life for girls and boys. A show of respect is reflected in our attitude and choice of words. Respect promotes peace and harmony in society. To parents and guardians-Ensure you inculcate respect in your children and wards as you groom them to become responsible adults.

We should make it a top priority to spend more time with God, be aware of HIS presence and listen to what HE says to us. The plans by the Federal government to initiate performance-based salaries is diversionary. This assertion was made by a former chairman of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria(TUC) in Oyo state, Comrade Andrew Emelieze. ''The question is why is it now that workers are agitating for a living wage? It is obvious that this is another diversionary tactic by the Federal government to keep the national minimum wage down. However, so long as the incentives are in place, workers are not scared of performance-based salaries. It is to be noted that over the years, workers have been underpaid,'' Comrade Emelieze stated.
