Our God enriches us with His grace

Image
Our God enriches us with His grace, demands some work from us, and ensures that no harm befalls us as His willing subjects. Our God of all time, all places, and all people moves ahead of tradition and popular expectations. Read Isaiah 45:1-7 The Local Scene- Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine was from Jappai village in Northern Cameroon. Maitatsine, a Mufu by tribe, became a Muslim in 1940. The tradition of the ethnic group revolved around human sacrifice and superstition. Maitatsine's followers, then, were young people, initiated into the group through the consumption of hypnotized concoctions. This brought in its wake violent crimes, an aberration to all right-thinking mortals. Sadly, the disturbing trend and source of inspiration of these criminals emanate from the heavy reliance of the leadership at the different levels of government on outlawed substances, in desperate attempts to hold on to political power. Very disturbing.

Serve Nigerians Not Yourselves-Cleric to Political Office Holders

Image
The government at all levels has been reminded of its primary responsibilities to Nigerians as citizens continue to groan in these difficult times. This reminder was given by an Ibadan-based cleric, Pastor Opeyemi Ajayi ''Thoe elected into various positions at all levels should be reminded of the fact that they were elected to serve the people, to ensure the safety of lives and property, and to be accountable to the people whenever necessary. They should remember that are in their various offices to serve the people and not themselves. Nigerians are suffering,'' Pastor Ajayi stated. In the same vein, a former chairman of the Oyo state council of the Trade Union Congress(TUC) Comrade Andrew Emelieze has described the actions and inactions of the present administration as a ploy to buy time for unknown reasons. ''Thses crop of political office holders have nothing to offer, they are only buying time for unknown reasons,'' Comrade Emelieze stated.

We intend to sensitize residents of major cities in the South West of this social problem and the steps to take when confronted with such an occurrence. An accompanying problem is child prostitution. Most minors who are sent to hawk, and work in beer parlors, restaurants, and eateries are oblivious to the dangers those who engage them take them into, this aspect would also be addressed. Accept Responsibility when Wrong

Image
The confessions of sins ensures that we confront the reality of different situations. Our loving and redeeming Svior forgives us and renews hope within us. We must accept responsibility for our actions and acknowledge that we are wrong and have committed sins. 1 Samuel 7 : 1-13 1And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. 2And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD. 3And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. 4Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the L...

Life has become Unbearable for Nigerians-Labor Leader

Image
Life has become unbearable for millions of Nigerians as a result of government-induced hardships and difficulties. This assertion was made by the deputy chairperson of the Association of Senior Civil Servants(ASCSN), Comrade(Mrs) Tayo Adebanjo-Adesida. ''Life has become unbearable for Nigerians due to the removal of the petrol subsidy and other policies of the government. This removal without consulting stakeholders is a big mistake,'' Comrae Adebanjo-Adeisda stated. Similarly, a former chairman of the University College Hospital(UCH)Ibadan branch and the Oyo state council of the Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP), Comrade Olusegun Sotiloye has blamed the disturbing situation across the country on the long silence of the government. ''The government has been silent for too long, and this has made the situation degenerate. As things stand now, there is no hope. Patients are finding it extremely difficult to visit the hospital due to the hig...

Calls for Urgent Deliverance

Image
The key elements of tyranny include, but are not limited to, insensitivity, brutality, random arrests, incarceration and unresolved cases of killings. Curiously, the prohibitive price of the Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) is already having multiple negative effects on the economy, even as Nigerians persist in their daily lamentations of the unbearable hardships that have been their lot in recent times. Indeed, governance on the platform of deformed democratic institutions attracts tyranny, which is not in tandem with the wishes and expectations of Nigerians. Interestingly, the people are yet to identify any conceivable reason for the policy direction of Those-in-Charge towards the worrisome and disturbing situation that called for urgent deliverance. The cost of living is on the rise on a daily basis and Those-in-Charge continue to appeal and cajole citizens to take their sufferings as sacrifices that must be made for the anti-people policies that are ravaging the land. Self Pr...

Guiding the Lost

Image
Do not relent, direct and guide those who have gone wrong, in so many instances and situations, back to the right path. Make it your duty to lead those who are lost back to Jesus. Mark 2 : 1-12 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 3And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. 6But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 7Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? 8And i...
