Ibadan based lawyer threatens journalist over late father’s house in Olorunsogo, Molete, Ibadan

 An Ibadan based lawyer, one Abdulramon Adeoti has issued threats to the Editor-in-Chief , Solomon Adewunmi of the The new Federation(news2day.emyspot.com) to vacate his father’s house before the 30^th of September, 2026.

This is coming on the heels of several harassment and attacks that caused bodily injuries on the journalist, by residents and hired thugs, in an attempt to forcefully evict him from his father's house.

Adeoti whose office is located at No. 20 Oliyid street, Sobande Avenue, Oremeji, Mokola, Ibadan, operates with the mobile numbers-07039597376/08132653307.

Indeed, the journalist, a legitimate son of the late Chief D.A Adewumi is in possession of the property documents of the house.

At about 5.30 am on Saturday morning the lawyer disembarked from a light grey Toyota Camry under the cover of darkness and pasted papers with inscription, ‘’ NOTICE OF CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP AND STATUTORY NOTICE TO QUIT APARTMENT AT NO. 3, KEHNIDE ADERIGIBE STREET, OLORUNSOGO, MOLETE, IBADAN, while an old woman, landlady, who resides at No. 8 of the same street, watched out for the lawyer, urging him to be quick.

‘’Notice to Quit

Our client urgently requires vacant possession of the premises to commence extensive works and renovations on the property.

Accordingly, we hereby give you notice to quit and deliver up possession of the apartment with its appurtenances, which you currently hold on or before 20 September 20206.

We strongly advise you to make immediate arrangements to vacate the premises timeously.

We trust you will act with the urgency this matter demands.’’

A stitch in time saves nine, the principal counsel, Abdulramon Adeoti wrote in the letter, which has the Nigeria Bar Association seal.

A few minutes after the lawyer drove off, thugs in their large numbers brandishing dangerous weapons passed by the house warning the journalist to pack out  immediately or be killed. 

Indeed, the lawyer’s behavior suggested that he and his sponsors have been behind the several life-threatening attacks by hired thugs.

Before this time, the journalist had written a petition titled ‘’DEATH THREATS’’ to the Commissioner of Police, Oyo state Police Command.

For long, several residents of the ancient city have been dispossessed of their houses through fraudulent means with the instrumentality of residents, family members, lawyers, estate agents and thugs.

Prominent among the thugs are one Segun Adewale, Lekan Adewale, Imole Adewale all of No. 3, KEHINDE ADERIGIBE STREET, OLORUNSOGO, MOLETE, IBADAN and one ‘’Ay’’, an estate agent, whose shop is at Amoke Mall in the community which serves as base for the criminals.

As events unfolded, the petitioner wrote a petition to the Commissioner of Police Oyo state Police Command.

However, the attitude of the O/C Monitoring, where the petition was assigned to and the Investigating Police officer, one Inspector Abbey discouraged the petitioner from going further. 

Their activities were not in confromity with satutroy proivisons.

Interestingly, the brothers and sisters (Mr. Taiye Adewumi, Mr. Tunji Adewumi, Mrs. Hannah Mujakperuo and Mrs. Susan Takure)of the petitioner are complicit in the criminal act.

On several occasions, hired thugs have invaded and vandalized facilities in the house, and stole valuables belonging to the journalist running into millions of Naira, all in an attempt to evict the journalist illegally.

Sadly, indiscipline, lawlessness and criminality is now a way of life for many including the lawyer and the affected law enforcement agents.

 We must take the pains to learn about clean living devoid of obscenities.

The need to develop a stronger hunger and thirst for righteousness is uplifting.

It is very important we separate ourselves from spiritual garbage.

If purity of heart sounds awkward, perhaps our tastes are too narrow.

We need to learn to savor the flavor of godliness.

Let us pray to God to forgive us for feeding on the cravings of our sinful flesh.

And go on further to pray for the Lord to help us to cultivate instead the tastes that His Holy Spirit wants to produce in us.

Sin cannot flourish where godliness is cultivated.

2027 Presidential Elections-If I were the President I will not contest-Cleric

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been advised not to seek re-election in 2027.

This advice was given in a statement by the President and Founder of Clear Revelation Ministry, Oluwarotimi Apostle Jeremiah Adeyeye.

‘’Again, I have a heavy heart concerning Nigeria. First, I want to talk about President Bola Tinubu. I see something the gives me headache.

If I were in his shoes, I would not contest in the election of 2027. And I see people who are around him giving him false confidence. 2023 has come and it has gone. I have never seen somebody so favored as President Tinubu; a man who came from the grassroots to the head of the ladder, there is nothing to behold again. And there is nothing more than climbing than coming down.’’

‘’ This time, the country is not well. It is not rosy for people; it is only those people at the top of the ladder are doing what they like. If they want to buy two planes or even one dozen, they have the money. But the people in the grassroots are suffering. No money; people are crying; things are so expensive in the market; a family of tow and three cannot feed with N5,000; things are so hard.’’

‘’Now I am beseeching President Tinubu not to contest election in 2027.  I don’t see him fully enjoying the 2027 election. It is not about President Tinubu and myself being Yoruba men; if I can tell you, President Tinubu has helped many heads to reach their dreams. He has companies where many people are feeding from. But Nigeria will not favor him in 2027. I f I were him I will not contest. if I were him, I would not contest. What is ahead is bigger than anybody’s head. That is my advice for the President. And if he insists on continuing and things are not getting better in Nigeria, as one kilogram of cooking gas is around N1,500, one liter of petrol is around N1,300; these are things that can make the common people to live easy lives; Nigeria will not favor him in 2027. I don’t see anybody in Nigeria and Africa who has breakthrough like President Tinubu.  There are some people in Africa that he should reflect upon: Idi Amin Dada of Uganda; What was his end? We saw the end of Samuel Doe in Liberia. I don’t want my own brother to be like that. There is nothing a man wants that God has not given President Tinubu. For him 2027 is not going to be an easy ride.’’

Apostle Adeyeye also revealed that there was a mole in the cabinet of the Oyo state government saying, ‘’now to Oyo state, I had told Seyi Makinde last year that towards the tail end of his government, troubles will erupt. On August 27, 2025, I addressed a press conference at the NUJ press center in Ibadan and told him that there was somebody in his government on whose account people would be after him (Makinde); that person would make people to hate him. And if care is not taken a dark horse will become the governor, if the election holds. This time, Governor Makinde needs to work hard; he needs strong consultation. I won’s say more than that concerning Oyo state, but things may lead to somebody they never thought of, becoming the governor of Oyo state. Many tables will turn, if there is going to be election in 2027.

He also advised the chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan to be firm and impartial in the conduct of the 2027 elections, stressing, ’as per the 2027 elections, I see things are going to be tough. I still maintain that the date of the election may change; and 2027 is going to be the toughest in the history of Nigeria and Africa as a whole.’’

2027 elections: God will take control-Prophet Arabambi

 

As the 2027 general elections approaches, even though insecurity persists in the land and hunger and poverty are the lot of millions of Nigerians, in this interview Prophet Timothy Arabambi of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Reformation Land (Ile Atunse), Olunloyo, Akanran, Ibadan, Nigeria expresses the conviction that there will be divine intervention.

Excerpts:

How has been the task of spreading the gospel, as you mark the 4oth year anniversary of your church?

In every government there must be the opposition. Do, God has been good on to us because we have been swimming in the divine grace, divine favor and divine mercy of God.

So, by the special grace of God, we have been able to weather the storm.

So many waters have passed under the bridge, and we have giving glory to God who has been with us.

And the joy of the Lord is our joy

Though Satan and his cohorts fought with all the powers to destabilize us, but we overcame and we are still overcoming Satan and his forces of darkness.

What are your views regarding political development in the country?

The spate of kidnapping is slowly on the decline and I know by the special grace of God insecurity will come to an end eventually.

We give glory to God for what He did in Osun state. God listened to the cries of His people. So, I glorify our God that answered my prayers.

In my message during our night vigil last week Thursday, I state that the elections in Osun state would be similar to that of the 2015 general elections. Then, Nigerians thought that the country would go up in flames. But I expressed optimism that the general elections would be peaceful. And, indeed, the elections were peaceful.

So also, the elections in Osun state. You can see that God took perfect control.

To the extent that the President, Senator Ahmed Tinubu congratulated Governor Adeleke. This is beyond human comprehension.

So also, during the 2027 general elections God will take perfect control. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow/ It shall be well with Nigerians and Nigeria in Jesus Christ name. Amen.

Education At The Primary and Secondary School Levels In Nigeria Are Rubbish-Prof. Olagoke

 

Parents all over Nigeria have continued to express worry over the declining standard of education. In this interview, the founder Shafaudeen Worldwide, Prof. Sabitu Olagoke speaks on the reason behind the current trend. Excerpts :

Are you comfortable with the declining standard of education in the country, presently ?

We have to clarify issues, curriculum wise, the standard is rising, but at the implementation level, because of the sharp practices , by the stakeholders at all levels, most especially on government part, the performances of students in various examinations, shows that there is a decline.

Institutionalizing education in any society, demands for some basic things to be on  ground. At the primary school level, the construction of buildings, standard enough to accommodate students, well Trained Teachers, who periodically go for capacity building exercises, all these things are no more. Even when you have an oppurtunity for the Teachers, government officials make them look as if that they are been done a favour. And so, selectively, they will pick some of their favoured ones for the training, the training will be so shabby and shallow, and at the end of the day, the budget for such a training would be cut., to the extent that those who are to give the training, wiil receive a token, and the Teachers that go for training, they would also be given a token. And a great proportion of the largess would go to the government officials, who are supposed to reallly implement all these things. You can see the abysmal level to which corruption has gone in the society and has destroyed the fabric of all senses of responsibility in the polity. So, when you get to primary schools, what you find are  features of dilapidated buildings, I mean public schools, students with wretched looks and torn clothes, because government itself knows that education   at this level is not well funded. They will never allow their children to go to such schools, even their grand children. So, education at this level is rubbish. It is true that we should challenge the parents to contribute, but the kind of parents that have their children in all these public schools are the wretched types, who can hardly make ends meet.  So what kind of contribution do you expect from such parents  ? Except to say that their children should return home and hawk their goods for  them. Sociologically, our management of education at this level is nothing to write home about.
Unfortunately, our government leads by propaganda. They will dress up very few schools, showing this over the Television and telling the whole world that they have funded education. At least, we can all attest to the fact that Teachers' salaries are always pranked on.  When Teachers are not well motivated, what do you expect  from their performances. When parents, who have children in all these schools have little or  very low education,  what do you expect from such parents, regarding imparting, monitoring and motivating their children. So this is why we have a lot of mushroom schools, in the name of private schools, you will see some dilapidated buildings of a primary school and the name will bear something, something international school. We are fooling ourselves. And until we really know what we are doing, the future of our children is in jeopardy.  Although  government officials have a substitute, they have their own children, overseas and some selected schools that are well funded, that are very private, so that is why they are comfortable. But when Bola Ige was alive, he used to say something, that always terrified me.  He said '' If those of you who are rich, find comfortable  and very good schools for your children and you neglect the course of the future of the poverty ridden masses, when their children grow into thugs, these are people who will never allow, your over pampered, children to live well''. And this is what we are experiencing in the country today. If you neglect a section and you fund very few people, those few people, in future, they will not necessarily find it easy, because the environment, we live in, matters most and contributes a lot to the quality of life we lead. So, when it comes to secondary schools, the same bad stories are repeated, most of the secondary schools, most especially, where they offer science subjects, they are nothing to write home about.  Look at their laboratories, look at their workshops. All we have on paper, are the ideals of the curriculum, which is internationally recognized. Even Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and Universities, nothing is been done.  Entrepreneurship education is on paper, theoretically taught, most of them do not have centers as expected and where they have, what is the impact of their products ? Products, in terms of the graduates, they are turning out, as well as the products in terms of  what they are really making, out of the entrepreneurship centers So, there is  the need to overhaul education centers, as well as the way we manage and implement our programs. UNESCO opines that 20% of the national budget of every nation, should be the minimum allocation to education. Nigeria, up till date, on the average, since 1990s, we've never been able to get 10% on the average. Even when there was no Boko Haram, when there was no war, the security vote was given so much recognition, and what did they do with such money,  they lavished it, they spent the money on unprofitable ventures. So, I don't know, we are now in an era of change, whereby Buhari our President, could be regarded as somebody that is very serious and who believes in reshaping the course of the future of Nigeria-economy, politics and security.
 And Osinbajo happens to be an academic guru, a lawyer of high repute, a personality of high legal standing. And both of them a Muslim and a Christian now, if you look at this people, because of the passion, religion enforces on the people, the governed, I believe, they will be able to turn around. But education in Nigeria, today, is fraught with agitations by the concerned citizens in the name of ASUP, in the name of ASUU, there is need to overhaul everything, so that the future of Nigeria does not collapse today.

By overhauling, do you mean a state of emergency should be declared ?

It is not about collapsing the sector, if you collapse the education sector,  everybody becomes an illiterate and before you say, you are awakening them, political campaigns will come again and you forget about everything. And the whole country will be in jeopardy.

THE PROF. SABITU OLAGOKE SERIES 1- INTIMIDATION

Intimidation is an outburst of human aggression to resolve matters without having regards to the rule of law. 

This always happens in an environment that is not orderly perhaps due to the weakness of the leader or the failure to apply the rule of law in the power dispensation. 

Cases of intimidation,most of the times,may create an environment of fear in the individual or people been intimidated. 

Chains of reaction arising from this, may result in anarchy or a state of chaos leading to a breakdown of law and order.

 This is the reason why the issue of intimidation must be addressed with all seriousness. Aspirants for leadership positions must also be sensitized on how best to control their temperament and the effective use of the rule of law to resolve issues. 

Basically,leaders must embrace management by equity and administration by justice to avoid the possible feeling of being cheated or marginalized in order that no one would be tempted into intimidating others. 

Intimidation may come from persons given positions of authority they are not competent to occupy.Leaders by their nature always want to be respected with their views being implemented by their subjects without delay or hindrance. 

However,when policies are rolled outburst considered not feasible due to the poverty of ideas of the leader,people are bound to resist such order. 

This may warrant the leader to exercise wrongly his executive power through intimidation. 

This kind of action exposes the weaknesses and limitations of such a leader making him or her to be vulnerable to serious agitations which may ultimately cause chaos and eventual stalemate in development or if the situation is not properly controlled, it may lead to the eventual removal of the leader. 

Poor governance in several nations have degenerated the fabric of discipline to the point of lack of peaceful co-existence. 

In such a nation, characteristics factors of intimidation would manifestos blackmail that usually create fear of possible shame and the loss of goodwill. 

When this is not properly controlled further intimidation would follow to make sudden wealth,while those who intimidate enjoy illegally acquired money, the victims become indebted or sickly. 

In summary,therefore,intimidation in all forms and ramifications as a process of discouraging or restraining fellow human beings from acting by threats,blackmail or violence must be guided against grooming the people to respect the rule of law in resolving issues as well giving due regards to the fundamental human rights of others for the purpose of enhancing peaceful co-existence.

Let us endeavor to shun activities that revolve around evil, since evil doers are on the prowl everywhere for unsuspecting believers.

We should utilize all that is in the environment for the benefit of humanity not for fetish and diabolic purposes.

Remember, divide and conquer is a strategy of Satan.

If you have given yourself to God, you don’t have to worry about life’s necessities.

God Himself has assumed responsibility for your food and clothing.

On the need for food, Jesus Christ made reference to the birds.

He stated, ‘’they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feeds them.

Are you not of more value than they?

However, we must be active to provide for our needs.

Birds must scratch and search for food.

But they don’t worry about it.

Jesus Christ instructed us to center our lives on the kingdom of God.

Then, clothing food and shelter will be our as well.

Once you center your life on God and doing His will, all other things become possible.

Poverty of purpose is far worse than poverty of purse.

Mao Zedong popularly known as Chairman Mao, was successful with his noble goals for China through despotic means.

His leadership was severe, dictatorial and personalized.

For as long as Chairman Mao's  cultural revolution lasted, thousands of Chinese died of starvation and inhuman labor.

Mao and his co-travelers argued that same was the price their people had to pay  for re-education.

This brand of governance ensured the extermination of the heroes of the civil war and the old party chieftains by the President's armed squad.

Chairman Mao is perhaps the role model of those who hold sway in Nigeria today.

Indeed, the former Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai is among several other political office holders, who adored the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Those in support of this argument insist that on a number of occasions, the  former Kaduna state Governor had knelt down to greet and/or consult with the former President. 

They maintain that this was only a sign of respect in the traditional African setting.

Nigerians are yet to stop complaining of constitutional breaches and the unabated trampling of the rule of law in the dust, without noticeable changes by the powers that be.

From recent events in the country, the economic reform programs of the All Progressives  Congress(APC) led government at the center and  in the states, are modeled along the thinking of a free market economy.

It is doubtful, if government, in the last three years, has managed the economy for the benefit of Nigerians.

Of worry is the state of manufacturing industries, which could be said to be epileptic, even as food security is a  mirage, insecurity is the chorus everywhere, while crude oil remains the major hope of the present administration.

Interestingly, the future growth of the Nigerian economy  rests comfortably on diversification and focus on  visionary and creative people friendly economic policies, although government still over-rely and over-depends on crude oil to fund its programs.

Can the present administration turn around the troubled economy ? Nobody knows.

Start by noticing where you are now: name one feeling, one pressure, and one small comfort. This simple act of awareness prepares the mind for a gratitude practice that can reshape how you experience life.

1) Notice — Spend two minutes each morning scanning your life for one thing that went right yesterday. It can be as small as a warm cup of coffee, a helpful person who showed up, or a moment of calm amid chaos. Recording that one thing every day builds a habit of attention and begins to train your brain away from negativity.

2) Name it — Try a short gratitude journal: write three sentences each evening listing specific things you are thankful for. Be concrete: instead of “I’m thankful for my family,” write “I’m thankful that my friend called when I felt overwhelmed.” This specificity strengthens the feeling of thankfulness and makes the experience more real.

A good reason to do right

The fear of God is a valid reason not to sin.

Job feared God and shunned evil.

The assumption is that there is a connection between fear and the right behavior.

The fear of God is a deep respect and reverence for God’s holy character and awesome power.

It is a healthy fear, not only of sin’s painful consequences but of sinning against the One who loves us and Whom we depend on for our very life.

And if we love Him, we will not offend Him.

Yes, the fear of God is a good reason to do right.

The measure of our love for God is obedience.

Federal Workers Protest Poor wages, hardships and Insecurity in Ibadan

Federal Government workers under the aegis of the Federal Workers Forum (FWF) on Monday staged a peaceful protest against the economic hardships and insecurity confronting workers inside the Federal Secretariat Ikolaba, Ibadan, Nigeria.

However, the protest was voluntary, as workers were not prevented from moving in and outside the secretariat-the two entrances remained opened.

In his words, Comrade Paul Balogun reminded the Federal Government that workers on its payroll were suffering, saying, ‘’ we are appealing to the Federal Government to pay the wage award immediately. The Federal; Government is still owing us two months wage award. The arrears should be paid immediately.’’

‘’The average Nigerian worker is living from hand to mouth, the average Nigerian worker is hungry and the monthly salary cannot take the average Nigerian worker home. Only N40,000 was added to the new minimum wage of N70,000 across board. We are appealing to the Federal Government to do the necessary, Comrade Balogun concluded.

For Comrade Olaniyi Ajibosho, workers have been experiencing difficulties reporting for duty daily.

‘’Workers can no longer report for duty as a result of the high cost of transport and poor salaries. Rents and school fees of our children are also there to address. We are suffering, ‘’ Comrade Ajibosho declared.

However, the National Coordinator of the FWF, Comrade Andrew Emelieze sums up the plight of the workers,’’ we are living in fear and economic hardships. Government should treat us like human beings. We are the geese that lays the golden eggs. Government should do all that is possible to reverse the ugly trend. Government should review the minimum wage now.

Chief Adewumi was a responsible and upright father who adhered strictly to the principles of successful living and standards revolving around honesty, firmness, resolution, transparency, courage, humility, tolerance, endurance and perseverance, generosity and philanthropy.

Let us retrace our steps by becoming responsible and fathers, just like Chief Adewumi, who impacted positively on several lives, including mine.

There are those who lead lives devoid of heeding to warnings or seeking urgent help they need.

They are tragedies waiting to occur.

However, we are not helpless. We can ask God to be merciful to them in spite of themselves.

When all we can do is pray, prayer move the hand that moves the world.

The Obstinate

The handwriting on the wall is now very clear, those-in-charge have not done very well for the people.

The people have only continued to complain while at the same time reining curses on those responsible for their impoverishment.

Sadly, they are helpless.

Those-in-charge ought to be reasonable enough to step aside for others with the ability and know how to meet the people’s expectations to take charge.

Unfortunately, the political office holders are obstinate; they have refused to admit failure in almost all the sectors of the economy, while the disturbing situation continue to deteriorate.

In almost every culture, women are perceived as underdogs and as a result always play second fiddle.

Jesus Christ, however, never treated any woman in a demeaning way.

Instead, He elevated the status of women in a male dominated society to one of equal dignity and honor.

In Galatians 3:28, Paul asserted that oneness in Christ transcends al distinctions between men and women.

Any demeaning attitude, comment or action towards women by men is contrary to God’s Word.

Empty Assurances

Several businesses have closed shop as a result of the very harsh policies of the government of the day.

Millions of Nigerians are already impoverished.

Distraught citizens have now become pick-pockets in public places.

The general costs of doing business in Nigeria has gone beyond reach.

Violent crimes, prohibitive costs of energy and transport occasioned by the cut throat prices of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), diesel and kerosene are the sign posts of governance presently.

Sadly, the response from those-in-charge revolves around deceit and empty assurances, while the desperation to manipulate the people’s resolve in 2027 continue.

Forgiveness

Our God is very unpredictable.

We are sinful and He is holy.

Sin can no more exist in the presence of God than darkness can exist in the presence of light.

To stand before Him in sin is to invite destruction.

If God were to keep a record of our sins, we could not stand in His presence.

God is honored and worshiped because He alone can clear our record.

If God could not forgive us, we could only flee from Him in terror.

Yet the God holiness threatens us is the God who through Christ redeems us.

Our unpredictable God offers forgiveness for all our sins.

Sins invites judgment; confession ensures forgiveness.

We need only to ask for it. Are you forgiven?

A Defeatist Argument

It is a sad commentary that certain Nigerians are either self-serving or being manipulated to accept that all is well in Nigeria.

A lot has gone wrong.

Indeed, desperation, wickedness and heartlessness are not traits of a virile democracy.

In very sane climes, dissenting voices thrive without harassment, threats, intimidation and attacks, while law enforcement and security agencies are not tools of repression and suppression.

The focus at the center and states revolves around silencing dissenting voices at the expense of good governance.

Insensitivity, carefree attitude and impunity are now components of this democracy.

Sadly, teachings in the diverse places of worship have failed to impact positively on the behavior of public office holders.

Criminality is now a way of life everywhere in Nigeria.

Every night criminals converge at a patent medicine store along Kehinde Adeiribigbe street, Olorunsogo, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo state, to engage in acts that breach public peace.

Their boldness and brevity is an indication that the government tacitly supports criminality.

The deliberate move to shy away from the truth by those-in-charge is not helping matters, even as the undiluted truth is very visible for all discerning minds.

Defeatist arguments are reflections of the helpless situation when consideration is given to responses of the government.

Renewal of Spirit of the mind

The agony that sin brings into our lives is enormous and had numbing effect.

It deadens our senses of touch with God and enables us to live without awareness of the ‘’injury and infection’’ that slowly damages our soul.

Sin produces numbness in our spirit. In other words, we can actually be hurting-yet feel no pain.

Let us pray for the Lord to give us a healthy hatred of sin.

If we feel no pain when we sin, we are worse off than we realize.

Read Ephesians 4:17-24

The Legacy

The signs are ominous and noticeable everywhere, those-in-charge at all levels of government are about to leave behind a legacy revolving around 1) Ignorance 2) Illiteracy 3) Indiscipline 4) Lawlessness 5) Criminality 6) Immorality 7) Profanity 8) Evil

Violent crimes are now part of daily living.

Complicity cannot be ignored considering the utterances of certain public office holders in recent times.

If only good governance is the focus, without compromising the ability of the young people to develop at their own pace.

Perhaps, the situation would not be disturbing and worrisome.

 In these perilous times take time to get all the facts of the situation which varies from place to place.

It is imperative that you have a good understanding of the issues in view, without arriving at hasty conclusions.

Only then can we obey God and follow His Example.

He knows all the facts because ‘’He is slow to anger and abounding in mercy.’’

Prosecution is the logical occurrence, when a leader defaults by acts of commission or omission.

A leader’s behavior ought to be a model for his or her followers; not a negative influence that attracts indiscipline, lawlessness and criminality.

This is the case when such a leader respects their points of view.

Indeed, a leader is an embodiment of good behavior.

No individual must run away from his or her shadow.

Our God expects from us, only what we can offer, not below, not above.

The Lord wants us to be fruitful and provide a quality service that comes from doing our very best.

Your little is a lot when you give your all.

Education removes the wool of ignorance from our eyes.

 The Disturbing Situation

Adolf Hitler labelled the extermination of the Jews in Europe,''the Final Solution'', while the military dictatorship in Argentina which embarked on an unprecedented killing of its citizens code named same ''The Process of National Reorganization''.

The activities of bandits, insurgents and herdsmen in Nigeria which have claimed thousands of lives are similar to the above mentioned.

Between 1976 and 1983, millions of citizens lost their lives in Argentina.

Death squads operating under secret circumstances and the cover of the state, murdered about 11,000 people, which is now described as ''The Disappeared''.

Two million people escaped persecution, while hundreds of babies born to ''The Disappeared'' were either sold, bartered or murdered.

Indeed, happenings in different states of Nigeria, including, Borno, Benue,Taraba and Plateau, Oyo, and Zamfara states, among several others, indicate Government's adequate knowledge of the situation, while unabated killings go on.

The relocation of the Inspector General of Police to Benue state, one of the troubled spots some time in the past, did not reverse the status quo.

On March 23 1976, General Jourge Videla, Head of the Argentine Army overthrew the Government of Isabelita Peron, a former night club dancer. 

In this country, no civilian Government had completed its tenure, except for Juan Peron, who spent only a tenure in office.

However, in Nigeria, the country still experiences obvious signs of  hunger, poverty, mass unemployment, corruption and a high level of insecurity.

The Ejercito Revolucionario de Pueblo and the Montoneros, leftists, took to kidnapping and killings to express their displeasure over bad governance in Argentina.

In Nigeria, kidnappings and killings have gone on unabated. 

Political watchers put the blame at the doorstep of Government.

Presently, Nigerians are worried over Government's inaction, as the country gradually slides into anarchy.

Accusing fingers are been pointed at political office holders  who have failed to deliver the dividends of Democracy.

Interestingly, the body language of the National Assembly, is an indication that the lawmakers, are yet to realize the need for the entrenchment of the rule of law and due process in the polity, just as impunity is now the order of the day

In 2009, the Defense Minister of Madagascar , Cecile Manorohanta, resigned her appointment on the grounds that she would not be part of a Government that kills its citizens.

Also, the people of Madagascar vigorously opposed the attempts by President Marc Ravalomanana to lease one million acres of their land to a Korean firm, Daewoo, for intensive farming. 

The people have deep ties with their land and as a result view the President's action as a betrayal.

The insecurity in the land has made foreign investment impossible, while the disenfranchised and poor majority look into the gloomy future for reprieve. Divine intervention, perhaps.

A good leader takes responsibility

 It takes an individual with divine courage to stand up in a crowd and take responsibility for wrongdoing while simultaneously make moves to correct the wrongdoing.

A good example of such a leader is Ezra.

He confronted the way and identified with the people, confessing the sin.

The people will confidently and voluntarily follow leaders, who are willing and ready to take responsibility even in very bad situations.

Mao Zedong, popularly known as Chairman Mao, was successful with his noble goals for China through despotic means.

His leadership was severe, dictatorial and personalized.

For as long as Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution lasted, thousands of Chinese died of starvation and inhuman labor.

Mao and his co-travelers argued that the same was the price their people had to pay for re-education.

This brand of governance ensured the extermination of the heroes of the civil war and the old party chieftains by the President's armed squad.

Chairman Mao is perhaps the role model of those who hold sway in Nigeria today.

Indeed, the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai is among several other political office holders, who adore President Muhammadu Buhari.

Those in support of this argument insist that on a number of occasions, the Kaduna state Governor knelt down to greet and/or consult with the President. They maintain that this is only a sign of respect in the traditional African setting.

However, those against this order of things, stress that the underlying factors revolve around hypocrisy and boot licking.

Nigerians are yet to stop complaining of constitutional breaches and the unabated trampling of the rule of law in the dust, without noticeable changes by the powers that be.

From recent events in the country, the economic reform programs of the All Progressives Congress(APC) led government at the center and in the states, are modeled along the thinking of a free market economy.

It is doubtful if the government, in most recent times, has managed the economy for the benefit of Nigerians.

Of worry is the state of manufacturing industries, which could be said to be epileptic, even as food security is a mirage, insecurity is the chorus everywhere, while crude oil remains the major hope of the present administration.

Interestingly, the future growth of the Nigerian economy rests comfortably on diversification and focus on visionary and creative people-friendly economic policies, although the government still over-relies and over-depends on crude oil to fund its programs.

Can the present administration turn around the troubled economy ? Nobody knows.
