The Gospel

The Gospel challenges accepted values, accepted traditions and accepted visions of God.

A New Beginning starts from here

It seeks to explain illness not as a punishment, but an opportunity for grace.

It also perceives the Sabbath not to be an imprisonment  of humanity, but a day of freedom and the poor not as an underdog, but the friend of Abraham.

The Gospel asserts that the cross is not the end of a criminal, but the throne of God's love.

Read Acts 14:1-7

The Local Scene

The constitution created the Legislature  to serve as a credible check to the executive at all levels of government from relapsing into excesses.

Events are still proving that this is regrettably not the case in Nigeria, particularly in this dispensation.

Sadly, the principal officers who have decided to remain on the side of the executive at the center and the states, keep mute in the face of constitutional breaches.

Leadership ought to be visionary and sensitive to the expectations of the citizenry.

However, acts of commission and omission by a number of those who are saddled with the responsibility of making laws, have only contributed in denting the image of a arm of government.

Indeed, the question on every lip is  if  the Judiciary is no longer  the last resort of the common man?

If recent pronouncements emanating from the courtrooms are anything to go by.
