Underage Cultists take over Scout Camp market Ibadan

  Young cultists aged between 9 and 16 years have for long converted the Scout Camp Neighborhood, market, Ibadan, Nigeria to a place of refuge. The under-aged cultists, comprising primary, secondary school students and drop-outs,  engage in  trailing and providing information on potential victims, pick-pocketing at public places, burglary in residential areas among other crimes. The young criminals retreat to the market as a place of safety, whenever they commit crime, just as they make use of illicit substances within the precincts of the market. Sadly, owners of  shops and open stalls at the market give moral and financial support to the young criminals, even though the state owned security network has an office in the market. It is however, disturbing that traders and residents carry on as if all is well, while these criminals continue to commit various crimes with impunity.

Awards To Guarantee the Safety of Lives and Property

Recently the Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC) did an awards ceremony  in Ibadan- communities near the expressway-Iwo road expressway- that have been the subject of debate  for sometime now.
Awards were given to individuals, who have over time assisted the Police Division, financially and materially, even though the crime rate in the community is on the increase.
Indeed,  complaints handled by officers and men of the Police Division at Felele, have not been impressive, even though a one time Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro handed over to Musiliu Smith at the Police Service Commission.
Sadly, owners of houses in communities, as a result of monetary considerations, deliberately refuse to thoroughly screen  prospective tenants before giving them accommodation and in the process, take in criminals.
Of worry, is the increasing number of ''Ogogoro'' joints, beer parlours,  and hotels in residential areas, with government agencies in charge of physical planning and the environment looking the other way.
The role of the ''estate agents'' whose credibility and educational pursuits are  questionable , have contributed a great deal to the soaring crime rate in the communities.
The  culture of impunity which is the order the day in Olorunsogo, Molete, powered by known criminals, who fraternize with ''Olopa'' openly- the law enforcement agents to the surprise of helpless residents.
Intimidation, threats, harassment and attacks by young children and jobless youths, acting on the promptings of some irresponsible adults in the communities in Ibadan, is common place.
The feeling by most  residents of the community, with majority of the privately  owned residential buildings sold in questionable transactions, is that  individuals of  means are behind the activities of criminals, who exhibit without restrain the culture of impunity.
The unending discussion among residents revolves on the relevance of awards and  the urgent need for the safety of lives and property of harmless citizens.

Lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly have long ceased to represent the electorate in Nigeria. This assertion was made by the convener of the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze. Oyo Government not taking our welfare seriously-Health Workers

  Some health workers in Oyo state have expressed reservations over the continued delay of the state government to meet their demands. The health workers, who are members of the Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals(NUAHP), Hospital Management Board unit, lamented that the state government ''is not taking our welfare seriously.'' ''The state government has continued to treat health workers on its payroll with levity. We are not happy about this, the government should urgently address our demands, they stated. However, the chairman of the unit, Comrade Olanrewaju Ajani disclosed that of all the demands of the health workers, the state government had only reviewed the hazard allowance.
