The Endorsement of Criminality

The unabating crime and criminality in Molusi/Solanke/Oyegbami/Olorunsogo/Oshodi/ Scout Camp/Felele communities among several others in Ibadan, Oyo state can be partly attributed to the activities of Okada riders, artisans, and petty traders who are non-residents. In these communities, the criminals take refuge in shops, beer parlors, food canteens, and deserted buildings with the consent of criminally-minded residents and community leaders. These criminals are brazen and daring as a result of the unwavering support from a number of knowns, but unnamed enforcement agents. Interestingly a number of politically exposed persons have for long acted in condemnable ways in these communities, which are now breeding grounds for young criminals. Sadly young people are no longer interested in education as a result of the bad examples laid by their parenstgs and guardians. Dissent in places of worship



The major challenge in most places of worship presently is managing dissent.

It remains unresolved in the face of divisive issues.

Indeed, these centers of worship, to a large extent, influence the value system of believers and facilitate the emergence of a new quality of life to confront evil and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God.

 The Local Scene 

The Supreme Court in Nigeria granted autonomy to the 774 local governments in the country.

This made millions of Nigerians heave a sigh of relief.

The happiness and rekindled hope that were written on the faces of impoverished Nigerians vanished several months after nothing changed at the grassroots.

The present scheme of things at the local government level in the 36 states and Abuja is a true reflection of the warped mindset of the leadership to do the necessary.

Sadly, the judiciary, in this dispensation, is yet to perform, so far, as an independent arm of government.

This is, without doubt, a problem that has perpetually left a bad taste in the mouths of millions.

Lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly have long ceased to represent the electorate in Nigeria. This assertion was made by the convener of the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze.
